1. Sell when its right for you, and the right reason.….Do not wait to sell under duress due to illness, divorce etc…. Sell when the business is profiting. However if illness requires the sale….. assure your books are up to date and and no announcements.
2. Know exactly what you are selling……….
a. An Asset Sale business name and assets,
b. Liquidation Value. Asset value if forced to sell (under 12 months)
c. Income Capitalization Future Income based in history and assumptions.
d, Income Multiple… Owners cash flow x 3-5……(norm)
e. Rules Of Thumb…. Recent past sales of like business in addition toused as cash flow mutiple.
